Fashion Production Intern

ABOUT THE JOB:
We are Lotus and Luna–an ethically handcrafted accessories and apparel company that supports talented artisans living in small villages in Northern Thailand, striving to end their cycle of poverty.

Lotus and Luna is looking for an intern with a Fashion Production & Design background to assist our rapidly growing team starting in late May. This position is part-time (10 - 20 hours a week) and unpaid, though school credit is offered. The intern will work directly with our Associate Production Specialist. 4-6 month commitment.


PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Organize jewelry and apparel samples
Conduct product research by facilitating in-office polls on new designs
Assist with managing fabric swatch and jewelry design binders
Conduct quality control reports
Assist with updating product information sheets
Conduct trend reports
Assist with the day-to-day operations of the production team as needed
General Production Organization: Spec Sheets, Production Drive/Folders
Scheduling sample fittings
Distributing samples among departments
Proof New Product Descriptions
New Product Presentations (assist)

QUALIFICATIONS

Authentic interest in fashion production and design with an eagerness to learn
Working toward/earning a Bachelor's degree in a related field
Creative and innovative
Must communicate clearly and professionally, both verbal and written
Ability to problem solve and manage time successfully
Highly organized and adaptable within a fast-paced environment
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat skills are a plus but not required
Must be located in San Diego
Positive Attitude/ Able to Adapt to a Changing Small Business Environment
