The program guides participants from initial concepts to completed collections, exploring trend forecasting, vision boards, color, illustration, silhouette and proportion, styling, sustainability, and design. Learners also upcycle garments, transforming existing pieces into new creations and bringing their ideas to life. Each session culminates in a look book and fashion show where participants showcase their designs to friends and family. Role Description The Fashion Instructor for grades K–5 will lead on-site fashion classes and workshops for elementary-age learners in the Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area. Experience or education in fashion design, illustration, styling, or a related creative field, with the ability to translate concepts for elementary-age learners.Background in teaching, youth programming, or classroom management, particularly with students in grades K–5.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.Ability to plan and organize hands-on lessons, manage materials, and adapt activities to different skill levels.Commitment to safety, sustainability, and positive youth development, including patience, reliability, and cultural sensitivity.Availability to work part-time on-site in the Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area; flexibility for program schedules as needed.Relevant degree, certification, or equivalent practical experience in fashion, art education, or a related field is preferred.
