Fashion Director Assistant

As the Fashion Director Assistant at Burlington, you'll partner with our Fashion Director to shape seasonal trend direction, product strategy, and brand alignment across key merchandise categories. This is a strategic role where you'll identify and interpret emerging fashion trends, analyze market insights, and influence assortment decisions that reflect Burlington's brand identity and customer needs. You'll act as a thought partner, driving cross-functional alignment and ensuring consistency in storytelling across merchandising, marketing, and vendor touchpoints.

## What Your Day Looks Like

**Trend Forecasting and Analysis** – Lead trend monitoring by analyzing fashion, consumer, and cultural insights. You'll synthesize findings into clear, actionable recommendations that guide merchant strategies and present seasonal direction to cross-functional partners and leadership.

**Product Assortment Planning** – Partner with merchants to influence seasonal assortment strategies, making sure they align with brand values and customer expectations. You'll recommend and validate key styles, colors, and silhouettes using data insights and market testing, and anticipate emerging opportunities to maximize business results.

**Merchandising Strategy** – Drive the execution of fashion direction through seasonal forecast decks, trend alerts, and strategic guidance. You'll ensure brand consistency and elevate product storytelling across marketing and merchandising channels, delivering presentations that influence senior leaders and cross-divisional teams.

- Functional Collaboration\*\* – Act as a connector across marketing, planning, store operations, and other functions to ensure cohesive implementation of fashion strategy. You'll represent the Fashion office in strategic meetings and projects, embedding fashion direction into decision-making.

**Team Support and Development** – Mentor and coach junior staff, helping them grow professionally and fostering a collaborative team environment. You'll also partner with the Fashion Director on cross-divisional initiatives and long-range planning.

## What You'll Bring

- A Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

- 5+ years of experience in a fashion, buying, merchandising, or product development environment.

- Expertise in trend forecasting and market analysis, with the ability to turn insights into actionable business strategies.

- Strong cross-functional collaboration and vendor management skills to drive alignment and results.

- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with confidence to influence senior leaders.

- Proven organizational skills to manage priorities, timelines, and go-to-market milestones.

- Strong visual, written, and verbal communication skills.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and trend tools like WGSN.

Compensation Range: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00. Individual pay decisions are based on qualifications, education, job-related skills, relevant experience, and geographic location.
