Fashion Designer (Women's Contemporary Non-Denim)

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and innovative Fashion Apparel Designer to join our women's non-denim design team. If you are trendy and have experience in women's contemporary non-denim, this role is for you!

In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing apparel collections that align with current trends and brand identity. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for aesthetics, a strong understanding of garment construction, and the ability to translate creative ideas into compelling fashion pieces. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence fashion retail offerings and contribute to the evolution of contemporary style.

Responsibilities

Develop original fashion concepts and design sketches that reflect current trends and brand vision using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and CAD software.
Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for prototypes and production samples.
Collaborate with merchandising teams to ensure designs meet market demands and consumer preferences.
Oversee the entire product lifecycle from initial concept through production, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
Conduct fabric and material research, including color theory application, to select appropriate textiles for collections.
Coordinate with garment construction teams to ensure designs are feasible for manufacturing processes.
Prepare mood boards, trend reports, and presentation materials to communicate design ideas effectively.
Participate in fitting sessions, analyze garment fit and functionality, and make necessary adjustments.
Stay informed about industry trends, fashion retail developments, and emerging technologies such as Adobe Creative Suite updates or new CAD tools.
Assist in styling photoshoots or runway presentations to showcase new collections.
Support sustainable practices within the design process by selecting eco-friendly materials when possible.

Qualifications

Proven experience in fashion design with a strong portfolio demonstrating creativity across apparel categories.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), CAD software, and product lifecycle management tools.
Solid understanding of garment construction techniques including sewing machine operation and illustration skills.
Knowledge of fashion retail dynamics, merchandising strategies, and fashion styling principles.
Familiarity with graphic design concepts and color theory application in fashion contexts.
Ability to translate conceptual ideas into technical specifications suitable for manufacturing.
Excellent communication skills for collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Strong attention to detail with organizational skills capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
