Job Summary
CP2, Inc., an established women's apparel import and wholesale company located in the Los Angeles Downtown Fashion District, is seeking an experienced Fashion Designer / Merchandiser to join our team.We are open to both Full-Time and Part-Time candidates. This is a Hybrid position, offering flexibility to work remotely while coming into our Downtown Los Angeles office as needed for sample reviews, fittings, meetings, and product development.We are looking for a hands-on apparel professional with strong experience in Junior and Young Contemporary women's apparel and a solid understanding of the Los Angeles fashion industry.ResponsibilitiesResearch current and upcoming fashion trends, colors, fabrics, prints, and silhouettesDevelop commercially viable styles for the U.S. retail marketCreate CADs, colorways, and design presentationsDevelop Junior and Young Contemporary women's apparelSource and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and colorsCoordinate sample development from initial concept through approvalReview garment fit, measurements, construction, and workmanshipPrepare and communicate fit comments and sample correctionsCommunicate with overseas factories and vendors regarding development and productionFollow up on samples, costing, approvals, and production schedulesWork closely with sales and production teams to meet buyer requirements and deadlinesAttend our Downtown Los Angeles office as needed for sample reviews, fittings, and meetingsQualificationsDegree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, or related fieldMinimum 5 years of apparel industry experienceExperience working in the Los Angeles Downtown Fashion District strongly preferredStrong experience in Junior and/or Young Contemporary women's apparelStrong knowledge of garment construction, fit, measurements, fabrics, and trimsGood understanding of current U.S. fashion trends and retail marketProficiency in Adobe Illustrator and PhotoshopExperience creating CADs, tech packs, and garment specificationsExperience communicating with overseas factories and vendorsExperience working with major U.S. retailers and/or off-price retailers is a strong plusStrong organizational and time-management skillsDetail-oriented, responsible, and self-motivatedMust be able to come to our Downtown Los Angeles office when neededCompensation & ScheduleFull-Time: $60,000 – $80,000 per year,
90-Day Introductory Evaluction Period
The position will begin with a 90 -day introductory evaluation period. During the first 90 Days, compensation will be $5,000 per month.
Upon successful completion of the 90-Day evaluation , a performance review will be conducted, Based on performance ,experience, responsibilities ,and overall fit with the company, compensation may be adjusted to approximately $6,000 per month ($72,000 annually)
