Fashion Designer

Seeking Passionate Wovens Designer for Leading Woman’s Apparel Brand Job Duties: • Experience in denim, sweaters and sleepwear preferred • Identify emerging fashion trends, including fabrics, silhouettes, and colors, and use them to design products that will appeal to the Soft Surroundings customer • Collaborate with Merchandising, Design and Artwork teams to develop new products based on historical research of customer and trend • Use CAD programs (Adobe illustrator) to create flat sketches • Work with Vendors to source new fabrics, embellishments, colors, or styles for each garment • Select fabrics, embellishments, and colors for each style created • Oversee styles from concept through production (reviewing development samples to bulk approvals on production) • Present design ideas to the Director of Design, Merchants, or other CFT’s • Ensure timely development of the assortment by adhering to corporate calendar • Work with design team on outfitting seasonal line across all categories • Attend fit sessions • Review lab dips and send comments to vendors • Prepare line sheets and update them as necessary • Attend PDD Milestone meetings • Perform other duties as required Competencies: • Conceptualize and design seasonal silhouettes and color direction that represent the Soft target customer. • Analyze and create color consistency through color palettes, labdips and print. • Ensure timely development of the assortment by adhering to corporate time and action calendar.
