Role Description The Fashion Design Intern role at SITA Couture is a part-time, and looking for a minimum 3 month commitment . It is on-site position based in Encinitas, CA. We have a major fashion show coming up August 9th that we are focusing on and we'll have interns actively a part of the curation of the show as well as the line up.
This is an unpaid internship with possible hire once internship is completed. The intern will support the design team with sketching concepts, managing inventory, developing tech flats, and assisting in the creation of seasonal collections. In addition, the intern will be a part of fashion shows, personal fittings and pop ups. Daily tasks include organizing textiles, preparing mood boards, helping with fittings, and documenting design changes. The role involves assisting with sample development, basic garment construction support, and maintaining design archives and digital files. The intern will also be involved with styling looks for photoshoots, co-creating runway looks, last minute design concepts for shoots and shows.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Fashion Design and Fashion Styling.Candidates should possess knowledge of Textiles and fabric properties.Candidates should possess practical Sewing and basic garment construction skills.Candidates should possess foundational Graphic Design skills for digital presentations and mood boards.Interest in sustainable and ethical fashion practices is highly beneficial.Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow design direction are important.Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site studio environment and manage multiple tasks.Relevant coursework or training in fashion design or a related field is preferred.
