This individual must be highly motivated, detail oriented, organized, enthusiastic, a team player, have strong written/oral communication and time management skills, be able to multi-task, problem solve and take initiative. The associate buyer must be highly proficient in MS Excel and all company software programs. He/she must be able to travel alone multiple times a week and must have a flexible schedule Responsibility • Assists buyers with various tasks and special projects • Reviews and analyzes Company reports, identifies and corrects deficiencies as they relate to sales, gross margin, process, and procedures including ordering, replenishment, receiving, merchandising, authorized products, and signage. • Successfully executes Company and department programs, initiatives, and strategies • Identify opportunities and adjust during regularly scheduled store visits • Plays an instrumental role in store setups, renovations, resets, and remerchandises • General assistant buyer duties as assigned • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships and partnerships • May manage selected vendors/categories • Prepare, process and maintain vendor information and item authorizations • Maintain price and attribute integrity of item records • Write, process, distribute and maintain purchase orders • Determine best purchase quantities using past sales data and trends • Analyze stock levels and identify products that need reorders • Manage balancing of stock • Identify and input markdowns and in-store specials • Update, reorder and maintain items in warehouse • Write and email memos, control cards, new product presentation checklists, planograms, etc.
