Teams in General Merchandise (GM) prioritize guest experience while blending completion of tasks that ensure product is available and easy to shop – replenishment, pricing and signing, setting, and maintaining the sales floor and the backroom. Guest service fundamentals and experience building and managing a guest-first culture on your team Retail business fundamentals, including department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies Leading a team, setting and planning department(s) monthly/quarterly workload to support business priorities and managing a team to deliver on sales goals Knowledge of the competition; leveraging insights to drive business objectives Managing a team of team leaders; creating business-specific strategies and goals, coaching and training to build a team of talented leaders Recruiting, selecting and talent management of hourly team members and leaders As General Merchandise Sales Executive Team Leader, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day most likely will include the following responsibilities: Oversee all GM backroom and sales floor areas, review all reporting to identify gaps and develop a plan to resolve including completion validation.
