DRIVER

Job Summary: The Driver is responsible for transporting shipments from the freight forwarder to the Warehouse and making daily inter-office runs between Brooklyn, Manhattan and the tri-state area to our Retail Store locations. While not on driving duty, the driver is also tasked with secondary pressing, steaming and general floor assistance responsibilities The hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm and Saturdays as needed. This position is non-exempt and thus eligible to receive overtime pay for hours worked over 40 hours per week. Responsibilities: Performs pick-up and delivery duties utilizing one of the three company box trucks Complete maintenance checks on company trucks and notify manager of any issues Refuel and bring trucks to car wash to make sure the trucks are always presentable and ready to go Perform secondary duties such as pressing, steaming or general floor assistance while not on driving duties Assist in receiving and breaking down container when shipment arrives from freight forwarder Additional tasks as assigned Desired Background: Minimum High School diploma (or equivalent) Experience: 3-5 years of driving experience Warehouse experience in the garment industry a plus Skills: Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe DMV record Must drive in inclement weather such as heavy rain and light snow Work well independently Team player and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Must be proactive Ability to anticipate problems and resolve in a timely manner Always remain calm during stressful situations Since this position requires the handling of merchandise there will be physical work. Physical functions will include: Must be able to push and pull rolling racks with weights up to 200 pounds Requires ability to lift up to 75 pounds at a time Frequent bending, pushing, pulling and lifting, twisting and reaching Ability to hold and grip garments Ascending/descending from a rolling ladder to hang/remove garments Must be able to stand and walk about the warehouse throughout scheduled shifts; up to 8 hours Required language is English Candidate must be able to communicate both verbal and written in English
