DIVISIONAL VICE PRESIDENT OF ARCHITECTURE & URBAN DESIGN

The ideal applicant has 15 to 25 years of experience, and will maintain overall project management responsibility for a variety of aspects in design innovations, project/prototype creation, oversight to a variety of internal and external projects, team members, and coordination with senior management. The DVP of Architecture & Urban Design is responsible for supporting senior leadership in all areas of design creation to execution. Who You Are: Creativity Presentation Skills Functional/Technical Skills Dealing With Ambiguity Drive for Results Time Management Timely Decision Making Innovation Management Approachability Managing and Measuring Work Strategic Agility Managing Vision And Purpose You Also Have: 15-25 years of Work Experience in Mixed-Use Projects across all asset classes MUST have hands on design experience with master planning creation across all primary asset classes (residential, retail, office, hotel, f&b) and must exhibit and execute design ideas through their skills utilizing sketches and direct implementation of design ideas through Revit 3D modelling and rendering Professional Degree in Architecture and/or Urban Design Progress toward license preferred—full registration a plus LEED AP or Green Associate encouraged Technical expertise using Revit, Enscape, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud required As The Divisional Vice President of Architecture & Urban Design, You Will: Design: Develop new concepts and strategies with senior leadership for prototype/project program Develop design guidelines and site planning for prototypes/projects related to open space, building form, site planning, placemaking and community design (includes but is not limited to the building, the street and public spaces associated with these principles) Gather and evaluate relevant design typologies and compareables. Identify potentialities along with constraints to maximize good urban design potential and the sites conditions and constraints Hand drawing, sketching and concept development Develop 3-Dimensional massing, and visual intent across all assets of urban design and architecture; implement design requirements best suited for project type High level of competency in Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape Adobe Creative Cloud and other visualization software to draft design 3D models and drawings Maintain design technique in respect to the latest trends and evolution in technology and innovation Project Management and Coordination: Ability to communicate verbally, in writing, and through drawings Submit drawings, designs and presentations for senior management to review. Coordinate concept approval revisions in a timely manner Oversee the development and execution of design ideas Evaluate consultant development proposals in compliance with local zoning regulations Coordinate and participate in design reviews developed by professional consultants Manage, support and guide designers involved in preparing drawings Participate in team meetings to coordinate design options and ideas Redline consultant drawings, and identify creative/innovative solutions to problems in design Maintain, consolidate and organize all consultant drawings Coordinate with development filter on entitlement specific documentation Leadership Promote collaboration among team members Seek out leadership roles and speaking opportunities in professional organizations Mentor junior team members Participate in community engagement capabilities Work well in a collaborative environment and individually Ensure to follow best practices and company standards Your Life and Career at HBC: Be part of a world-class team; work with an adventurous spirit; think and act like an owner-operator!
