DIRECTOR - SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS AND MATERIALS

Carter's, Inc. is the largest branded marketer in North America of apparel exclusively for babies and young children. As the leader of the Sustainable product initiatives at Carters, you will be responsible to develop and deploy strategies and processes to make Carters products more sustainable - from fiber to manufacturing to packaging. Sustainable Material and Product strategy (25%) Work with business leaders to identify, develop and drive sustainability strategy and initiatives in fabrics, trims and packaging for all brands and businesses at Carters Proactively identify and analyze business trends and industry benchmark analysis to help guide strategic direction and execution Influence Merchandising, Product Development and Marketing on product initiatives to advance continuous improvement and progress toward sustainability goals in fabrics, trims and packaging materials Sustainable Product Development and Execution (50%) Oversee development, implementation and tracking of programs to deliver on sustainable product/material goals, including tracking and traceability Set implementation plans and oversee integration of sustainable materials and processes into Sourcing and Material development including but not limited to: fiber and fabric sourcing, garment production, packaging materials/methods and sustainable chemistry Provide direction and partnership with cross-functional teams to develop of tools, systems and processes to enable appropriate tracking, tracing and reporting of material use, improvements and sustainability attributes ESG Engagement and Communication (25%) Provide subject matter expertise throughout the supply chain and key partners in the business related to sustainable products and materials Identify and engage with external stakeholders (NGOs, industry groups, peers, retailer customers) to develop innovation opportunities, share best practices and leverage processes and technology within Carters Normal office environment Role is based in our Buckhead office location Occasional travel to industry conferences or events may be required NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
