Director of Product Development, Tops, Sweaters, Sleepwear & Active Wear

Cato is seeking an experienced Director of Product Development in women’s fashion apparel to join its product development team. Clear and transparent communications with merchants, design, QA, technical, overseas office, and maker partners to inform, educate and consistently communicate Cato’s message and goals; Manage the procurement process from development and line adoption, to include package completion, buy, development, approval, production follow up, and managing on-time quality deliveries. Build strong partnerships with suppliers to ensure vendor direction is in line with Cato’s goals. Travel with sourcing team to manage / monitor work in progress and ensure Cato’s stature in the vendor community. Requirements: Minimum of 10 years of apparel product development/sourcing experience with a proven track record in a fashion retail environment; Thorough knowledge of direct sourcing, product development, design and merchandising.
