DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

Research and shop the domestic and international markets to identify fabric, trim and color trends including local reps, PV,  Milano única, pitti filati, Tex-world and spin-expo. Give expert advise in new style development including fabric and trim adoptions, viability of design intent,  and suggesting alternative options as needed while keeping with seasonal development budget , t&a  calendar and preserving the integrity of the brand Spearheading and managing development tech packs and BOMS in collaboration with the rest of design team, tech team and freelancers, assuring accuracy, completeness and timelines of seasonal collections. Leading BOM hand off meeting to tech and production at the end of each season Attending and participating in development fittings in collaboration with DD/CD and the rest of the design team to ensure design aesthetic and viability is achieved according to seasonal concepts and to standard commercial garment construction. Including lab dips, strike -offs, print layouts, beading layouts, stitch panels, mock-ups, wash effect panels,  counter fabric review and approvals. Collaborating with the rest of the design team in final fittings and alterations before and in preparation for photo shoots and seasonal markets Collaborate in product shoots as requested to oversee correct garment fit Owning communication between design team and factories as needed Bringing in new factories or relationships to improve final product result Help the communication between design / tech / production to make sure there is less bumps in the road during the time from Development to Final Product Help product development associate with fabric sourcing and all other fabric and material needs throughout each season.
