General Summary: The Director of CAD oversees the seasonal print and pattern development process for Apparel and Accessories from concept stage through to execution. Partnering with design leadership, he/she will work to establish the direction for print and pattern to align with the seasonal concepts to ensure trend right, relevant prints are developed that suit the brand, and ultimately support the overall business goals. The Director of CAD will manage a team of CAD designers to ensure all print and pattern needs across the brand’s multiple categories are being met efficiently and successfully, while always looking for ways to innovate and improve processes where able.Position Responsibilities:· Lead the development of seasonal print and pattern direction across all apparel and accessory classifications in partnership with design leadership by identifying emerging print, color, and pattern trends that are relevant to the Aéropostale/Lucky Brands customer.· Communicate and present effectively seasonal print direction as it relates to brand concepts.· Translate inspirational and bought sample prints and patterns into CAD format.· Oversee and manage the development of cohesive print and pattern programs by delivery.· Maintain awareness of current and historical sales trends as it relates to color, print & pattern· Understand the basics of the production process as it relates to color and print including fabrics, washes, print limitations, etc., while also continuing to stay educated and informed on future advancements in the industry.· Oversee and lean into the creation of pattern repeats throughout the development process.· Ensure the CAD team is able to support the line development process by updating and refreshing CAD prints and patterns as designs evolve.· Maintain organization across the dept and classification systems to ensure files are easily accessible by team members.· Develop strong working relationships with cross functional team members to promote a collaborative environment.· Maintain and communicate an awareness of the corporate calendar to help the team manage deadlines.· Proactively seek out opportunities to build brand momentum and mitigate product costs.Position Requirements:· Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and presentation skills· Proficiency in Textile software, Kaledo/NedGraphics, Adobe Ai, Photoshop, & MS Office· Strong relationship building ability with a commitment to collaboration· Strong conceptual design ability regarding print, pattern, and color sense.· Proven understanding of the Aero/Lucky Brand customer· Ability to multi-task and be flexible when needed· Desire to stay educated on industry innovations and shiftsSPARC Group LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
