job descriptionWhat This Position Is All About: Reporting to the Vice President, Labor & Employment Counsel, you will be responsible for providing assistance and expertise related to a broad range of employment-related legal matters. This position will provide preventive, proactive legal advice and solutions on a range of employment practice topics including, but not limited to, discrimination, harassment, performance, discipline and separations, leaves of absence and accommodations, recruiting, hiring, benefits, wage and hour, compensation, employment-related contracts, severance agreements, and labor relations issues. This position will manage employment litigation and represent the company before federal, state and local civil rights and governmental agencies and will be responsible for writing responses and position statements, responding to information requests, and attending fact-finding conferences.Who You Are: You have exceptional communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, coworkers, and colleagues You’re able to present clear and practical legal advice; be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be able to adapt quickly to changing priorities You have strong analytical and problem solving skills, can make reasoned decisions and recommendations, and provide sound legal advice while considering the operation and needs of the business operation You’re a self-starter, a problem-solver and should be comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment You Also Have: JD required Must be a member in good standing of the bar. As Director, Labor & Employment Counsel You Will: Provide preventive, proactive, strategic legal advice on a broad range of employment practice topics in the U.S. and Canada.
