What This Position Is All About:The Marketing Consumer Insights team informs business strategy to drive growth for Saks, providing fact-based analysis, consumer insights and practical recommendations to key decision makers. Who You Are:Demonstrated ability to generate innovative insights from rigorous analysisDemonstrated thought leadership / critical thinking skillsExceptional problem solving and analytical skills; Strong intellectual curiosity and capacity to constructively question assumptions; Ability to generate innovative insights from rigorous analysisExceptional oral, written and formal presentation skillsDrive, self-confidence and initiative to work cross-functionally, be a team player, and interface effectively with various departments You also have:Bachelor’s degree in marketing, research, or business; MBA/Master Degree a plusMinimum 7+ years of primary research experience, in a consumer insights or research roleStrong business acumen and interest in working in retailHighly adaptable, works well in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environmentAt least 2 years leading a high performing insights teamSolid understanding of qualitative, quantitative, and advanced analytic research methodologies and suppliers (including new approaches)Strong analytical skills with proven ability to interpret data and link insights to growth opportunitiesAbility to create required ad hoc analysis and field custom research.Ability to develop compelling recommendations as the output of the analysis.Experience with analytic/consumer insight tools and market data sources (i.e., NPD, Mastercard, specific customer databases, etc. )Experience developing and leading primary research to support marketing strategy and customer growth goals Proven knowledge of and experience managing the full market research cycle including survey design; data analysis, data interpretation, and development of recommendationsAbility to work independently and demonstrate organizational skills and agility to determine priorities and manage multiple priorities.Creative and detail-oriented mindset in ambiguous situations, with a focus on execution.Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination prior to beginning employment.As the Director of Insights you will:Work with other members of the marketing team and business partners to proactively identify, develop and drive key consumer insights projects and build the annual research planPlan, develop, and support consumer research by working closely with internal teams to align on objectives and research plansContinuously questions data, asking deep dive questions, and pursuing answers that may not be readily apparentWork closely with the analytics team to incorporate customer behavioral data into the insights presentations Formulate presentations and recommendations based on consumer insightsDevelop strong relationships with business partners at all levelsUse both quantitative and qualitative data sources to drive decisions and successfully generate resultsStay current with market research and data analytic tools and methodologies Your Life and Career at Saks:Be part of a world-class team; work with an adventurous spirit; think and act like an owner- operator.Exposure to rewarding career advancement opportunities, from retail to supply chain, to digital or corporate.A culture that promotes a healthy, fulfilling work/life balance.Benefits package for all eligible full-time employees (including medical, vision and dental).An amazing employee discount.
