The Designer will oversee the design process from conception to final prototype for assigned product(s) and is fully responsible for entire product design to include market research, designing, sketching, spacing, and fit. The Designer will build effective collaborative relationships and maintain the unique look, integrity, and vision of the brand. Responsibilities: Key Accountabilities: Research competitive markets to identify new trends, fabrics, and techniques Ensure that the product is consistent with market trends while maintaining the brand identity and business strategy Concept and execute silhouette, fit, and styling directions Sketch and color assigned categories in Illustrator Ensure that production/sampling packages are accurate and complete Partner with Merchandising Team to set seasonal framework and ensure creative ideas and business goals are aligned Set seasonal fabric and trim direction, working with Product Development, Production and R&D Teams regarding QA results and development issues. Set direction of fit and final approval of fit by collaborating with Technical Design Maintain daily communication with Merchandising, Product Development, Production, and Technical Design Teams regarding development issues Adhere to cross-functional calendar and attends all meetings as required Provide a positive, challenging work environment Must be able to travel to Globally to oversee sample making process Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in design or related field 5+ years experience with a solid understanding of the Tween girls market Skills and Behaviors: Agile, with proven ability to thrive in a fast paced environment Excellent understanding of technical footwear construction and designing within sharp cost parameters Ownership of concepting, sketching, and specing all Footwear for focused branding (encompasses all footwear categories, including seasonal and slippers) Adhere to seasonal calendars and meet all deadlines Sharp tween/junior styling eye for outfitting footwear back to apparel Highly proficient in AI, InDesign, and Photoshop, strong sketching ability and board presentation skills PLM knowledge a plus, but not required Exceptional cross functional partnership skills
