At Granger Owings we are seeking a skilled and detailed oriented Seamstress/Tailor to join our team. As a tailor you will be responsible for sewing and altering garments that are to the stylists specifications/markings. This is a great opportunity for anyone with a passion for fashion. Responsibilities:

As a Seamstress/Tailor, you will be responsible for sewing and altering garments to meet customers specificationsThis is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for fashion and garment construction.Perform garment alterations which will include hemming of pants, shortening coat sleeves, and taking in the sides of a coat or suitUse sewing machines and other tools to sew fabrics and create a finished garmentFollow instructions of the sales people on what needs to be altered on the garmentsMaintain a clean and organized work spaceFollow safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment

Qualifications:

Experience in alterations & garment constructionProficient in using a sewing machine and other sewing equipmentBasic knowledge of garment construction techniquesAbility to accurately measure and perform basic mathExcellent attention to detail & craftsmanshipAbility to work in both a team environment and independently once trained and manage time effectivelyNote that this job description provides a general overview of the responsibilities, requirements, and skills needed for the position of Seamstress.
