Repurposed Thrift Store provides critical financial support for Living In Liberty whose mission is to combat and raise awareness about human trafficking globally and in Pittsburgh. We also seek to educate our shoppers about the reality of trafficking and about our mission which they support through their patronage. Repurposed is run by a small, paid managerial staff and many talented, faithful volunteers.

About the role

The Clothing Managers are responsible for oversight and management of the entire clothing process from retrieving donations from donation drop-off to their final destination of being sold to store customers or to Mission Partners. This position with work in conjunction with the other Clothing Managers who report to the Lead Manager and Store Director.

The “Clothing” responsibilities include bags, luggage, purses and accessories.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with other Clothing Managers on the clothing “processes” including sorting, up-pricing of clothing and overseeing the layout of the clothing area of the store
Manage volunteers and other clothing employees in clothing process
See that clothing is retrieved and sorted in a timely manner according to established protocols
Oversee process of identifying and up-pricing appropriate clothing
Provide a good work environment for other employees and volunteers including workers with special needs.
Make sure bags of unsellable clothing are placed in Mission Partner storage trailer before shift end every day. Manager also responsible for seeing that trash is emptied daily.

Location & commitments

This is a permanent, part-time position
20 hours per week
Must work every 2-3 Saturdays

Candidate requirements

Must possess organizational and good time-management skills
Must have good communication skills
Must be able to effectively manage volunteers, other clothing staff and work cooperatively with all store managers
Ideal candidate has retail and clothing sales experience
Ideal candidate has previous management experience
Ideal candidate would have ability to run register on as-needed basis.
