Clerical Leader / Clothing Supervisor

OverviewEnsures that the temple ordinances are kept pure, recorded accurately, and made available to worthy Church members in accordance with First Presidency standards. This role provides guidance and direction to Temple Workers who serve in the temple office or laundry. This role oversees and performs administrative tasks and temple-related ordinance support under the direction of the temple recorder. This role also oversees and participates in the laundering, mending, and generally care for the clothing and linens used in the temple according to First Presidency standards. This position contributes to an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple.

Responsibilities50% Clerical Leader Duties:

Provide a positive patron and worker experience through warm and welcoming interactions.Regularly supervise and/or provide training to employees and volunteers.Ensure understanding of and compliance to established policies and procedures.Oversee the completion of scheduling appointments, recording ordinances, and other administrative tasks.Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.Lead special projects as directed by the temple recorder.Manage inventory and budget of needed supplies.Manage any necessary legal and regulatory documentation and verify and review ordinance paperwork.Assists with other responsibilities as assigned by the temple recorder.50% Clothing Supervisor Duties:

Keeps clothing and linens clean and in good condition, ensuring they meet the temple's standardsProvides prompt and courteous service to patrons and church workers entering the temple laundrySupervises, leads, and trains employees and volunteers in laundry operationsPrepares schedules for employees and volunteers, coordinating shifts to maintain smooth workflow and coverageManages and ensures the upkeep of the temple clothing inventoryMonitors and maintains inventory of needed chemicals and works with outside vendors to ensure timely supply and compliance with safety standardsManages resources to optimize operations and cost-efficiency, ensuring adherence to the established budgetOperates commercial laundry equipment; prepares clothing and linens for use within the temple; may include sorting, washing, drying, hanging, pressing, folding, and assembling items needed by patrons, workers, and others who enter the templeUses computer resources to access training and communication toolsImplements safety policies and procedures for the laundryKeeps the laundry area clean, well-organized, and free of safety hazardsPerforms other tasks and attends coordination meetings as assigned by the temple recorderQualificationsTwo (2) years of relevant experienceDemonstrated leadership abilitiesExperience in inventory controlExcellent interpersonal skillsBasic financial backgroundMust be able to lift 30 pounds; bend, kneel, stoop, pull, push and perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced work environment; must be able to stand for long periods of time.PreferredHigh school diploma or equivalentBasic computer skillsAbout UsChurch employees find joy and satisfaction in using their unique talents and abilities to further the Lord’s work.
