Key Qualifications:Personal Characteristics:Superior communications skills, both written and oral.Demonstrated understanding and acceptance for responsibility of confidentiality.Strong organizational / time management skillsHigh attention to detailDemonstrated problem-solving skills.A proven ability to build strong business relationships beyond the finance team, as well as ability to effectively manage the needs of multiple stakeholder groups.Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customersAbility to multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyProfessional Qualifications:Experience within Accounts Payable function in a large, multi-national companyKnowledge of retail systems, cost accounting and general ledgerStrong analytical and reporting skillsExperience with accounting monthly and quarterly close process within the AP functionA minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related field, including exposureto Accounts Payable.Experience in the retail industry, while not required, is preferredExposure to AP systems and technology, including design, testing and implementation.Intermediate Microsoft Excel skillsHaving a working knowledge of Oracle GL / Oracle Fusion, is an assetMust be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination prior to beginning employment.Educational Credentials:Bachelor’s degree, with business or accounting background preferred Role Description:Associate Expense Payable:Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customersManage the Accounts Payable InboxCollaborate with vendors and internal departments to ensure timely booking and payment of invoicesProviding support and direction to expense managers throughout the company pertaining tothe payment of expense invoices and helping to resolve any escalated issues or invoices / payments requiring expedited treatment.Reconciliation of vendor statements to identify and correct discrepanciesAssist with the month end and year end closingAssist with the yearly external audit processSupport the documentation of departmental processesReview and maintain 1099 vendor informationAssist in the yearly reconciliation and filing of 1099 formsSupport Period-end close activities for the Expense Payables team:Ensure all period-end accounting activities are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with financial controls and policiesAssist in various project and ad hoc requestsSupport the external and internal audit process as required Your Life And Career At Saks:Exposure to rewarding career advancement opportunities, from retail to supply chain, to digital or corporate.A culture that promotes a healthy, fulfilling work/life balanceBenefits package for all eligible full-time employees (including medical, vision and dental).An amazing employee discountThank you for your interest with Saks.
