ASSOCIATE DESIGNER - Wovens

The Associate Designer will design and develop men's woven shirting for the Original Penguin brand with guidance from the Design Director. Facilitate seasonal research development for woven shirts and woven bottoms for the off-price market, including market research, fabric research and color/trend research Create and develop CAD illustrations including prints and plaids in programs such as Ned Graphics for final sign off with design director and ML Wovens designer Understand and translate seasonal sku plans Optitex (3D CAD) Create in 3D the entire woven shirts and woven bottoms line for the off price business as well as facilitates quick turn around ML projects in Optitex as well Attend weekly fittings advising any fit issues and or modifications etc for MB wovens/bottoms in partnership with ML Wovens designer Create and manage trim sheets for pass off to PD, seasonally based on adoption Update and maintain seasonal development, ensuring the drives are always kept up to date Schedule and coordinate meetings with cross functional partners as needed, such as sourcing and tech Assist with the sourcing and approval of fabric samples, lab dips, strike-off's and other development materials Follow up with cross functional departments on all sourcing and development materials Provide support and assist the Men’s ML Wovens Division, during peak seasonal deliveries, including facilitating SMUs, specifically for any woven styles Performs additional duties and assignments, as requested 4+ years of experience in Men’s Wovens Design Must have a strong sense for color and pattern Must have excellent working knowledge of CAD, Illustrator, Photoshop. Knowledge of Ned graphics would be ideal, specifically 'Easy Weave', 'Design + Repeat', 'Easy Color' Must have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in both written and verbal communication Must be a team player, have ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and take initiative Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet all objectives and allow the various initiatives of the Design department to be accomplished in a timely manner Must be detail oriented individual and a strong self-starter Must be able to take direction. This position requires incumbent to establish effective work relationships across multiple levels and functions Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and change
