Associate Apparel Designer

Westmoor Mfg. Co., a family-owned company in Ft. Worth, TX for over 75 years is seeking a full-time Associate Apparel Designer to join our creative team in the exciting task of developing Panhandle Western Wear and Rock & Roll Denim. The ideal candidate should have 2-4 years previous experience in fashion design, should be hard working, creative, and goal oriented. Responsibilities: (including, but not limited to) Trend analysis Fabric/print development – yarn-dyes, knits, and wovens Creating fabric request boards for factories Evaluating handlooms, strike-offs, and lab dips from factories Communicating with factories over sample fabric, construction, and garment fit Tracking receipt of samples and sample lines Creating technical sketches for garments Creating tech packs using PLM Preparing samples for photo shoots and line release Oversee photoshoots Selecting and editing photos Creating line book with photos and sales information for lines Organizing sample lines Assist with presentation of the line to salesforce during quarterly line release meetings Participate in sample fittings Maintaining workflow for current season in development and previous seasons in mass production Requirements: Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Apparel Design 2-4 years of design experience Previous experience in apparel is required Knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabric and color Proficiency in Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and MS Office Experience with PLM is a plus Eagerness to learn, team player Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong organization skills and the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently Portfolio required Job Type: Full-time in office Salary: From $50k to $52k per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Ability to commute/relocate: Fort Worth, TX 76106: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Education: Bachelor's (Required) Experience: Garment construction: 2 years (Required) Fashion design: 2-4 years (Required) Adobe Illustrator: 2 years (Required)
