Uptown Cheapskate Reno is a brand-new store and the first Uptown Cheapskate in Nevada! We are currently open to buy, building our inventory and team as we prepare for our Grand Opening in October.

We are looking for a dependable, energetic, fashion-forward Daytime Assistant Store Manager / Fashion Buyer who can help lead our team, support daily operations, and become an important part of our buying program.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, working with people, making decisions, and helping build a new store from the ground up.

We carry thousands of popular mall, designer, and luxury brands at a fraction of regular retail prices while helping make fashion more sustainable by giving great clothing a second life.

What You’ll Do

Lead the Team

Help oversee daily store operations during daytime shifts
Provide direction, support, and coaching to Buyers and Fashion Consultants
Help train and develop new team members
Keep the team organized, productive, and focused on daily priorities
Lead by example with professionalism, positivity, reliability, and excellent customer service
Help create a fun, welcoming, and accountable team culture
Assist store leadership with daily communication and operational needs
Step in to help solve customer or employee concerns when needed

Buy Great Product

Evaluate clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories customers bring in to sell
Select merchandise based on current fashion trends, brands, condition, demand, and Uptown Cheapskate buying standards
Learn pricing and resale values across a wide variety of brands
Make confident and consistent buying decisions
Provide a friendly, professional experience for customers selling to us
Help organize and process incoming inventory efficiently
Stay up to date on current styles, brands, seasonal trends, and what our customers are looking for

Help Run an Amazing Store

Support merchandising and replenishment of the sales floor
Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store environment
Assist with opening procedures, cash handling, and daily operational tasks
Help prepare the store and team for our October Grand Opening
Assist with promotions, social media content, and showcasing exciting incoming product
Jump in wherever needed to help the team succeed

Who We’re Looking For

Previous retail leadership, supervisory, or management experience is strongly preferred.

Experience in fashion, apparel, merchandising, resale, or buying is a plus, but we are happy to train the right person who brings strong leadership ability, reliability, and a genuine interest in fashion.

Compensation & Benefits

$15.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience

Schedule

This is a full-time position averaging 35–40 hours per week and is primarily focused on daytime availability. Some weekend availability will be required based on the needs of the store.

We’re looking for someone who wants more than just a retail job — someone who wants to lead, learn the buying side of the business, and help us build an incredible store and team.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
