ASSISTANT OPERATIONS MANAGER

Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish company goals. Responsibilities : Direct all personnel activities including staffing, employee relations, goal setting, personal development, performance reviews, discipline and terminations Leverage leadership skills in operational management, project management, change management, and business performance analysis to develop best-in-class distribution operations for PEI Prepares departmental annual budget based on the forecasting by the Company and direction from leadership.et for the Distribution Center Direct distribution procedures for the organization and security of inventory and physical assets Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement to distribution metrics in safety, productivity, quality, and delivery goals Streamline and standardize processes supporting distribution operations Develop and define critical performance metrics to control processes, measure performance, and guide corrective action Ensures the operation complies with federal, state, local and PEI safety, health and labor standards Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively. Allocating and managing staff resources according to changing needs drive and facilitate the organization’s strategy for cultivating a fully engaged distribution workforce Develops distribution financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligns monetary resources; develops action plan; measures and analyzes results; initiates corrective action; minimizes the impact of variances Execute projects required to support growth of business through implementation of new programs and continuous improvement efforts to maximize DC capacity, strategic capabilities and efficiency Complete operational leadership for the entire business’s distribution operations to meet/exceed the demand fulfillment requirements and cost objectives Introduction of continuous improvement, and distribution, logistics, methodologies in order to deliver results in order fulfillment, quality, cost, inventory management and safety Manage process changes, enhancements and modifications to facilitate implementation of new or improved business processes. Continue to seek ways to improve the movement of goods at a maximum level of productivity Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in performance of all job functions Skills : Extensive knowledge of distribution management theories, principles, methods and practices Solid knowledge of Distribution activities required, including thorough understanding of EDI integrations with Third Party Logistics (3PLs), and inbound, outbound, and returns Strong experience in assigned functional area processes and procedures Strong knowledge and understanding of assigned functional area best practices Plan and conduct regular staff meetings to inform, educate, and recognize employees, as well as to provide a forum for exchange of ideas Root cause analysis and corrective actions Execute Company policies, procedures, and programs in a professional, effective, and timely manner Strong skills in talent management and development Ability to direct, plan, organize, assign, review and evaluate the work of subordinates Ability to make effective and efficient use of financial resources to achieve objectives Ability to persuade, influence and impact others Solid analytical skills, excellent communication skills (oral and written), ability to work well with others, self-motivated, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations Requirements : Bachelor degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or another relevant discipline.
