Summary The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager in achieving sales and productivity goals while delivering exceptional customer service. This role recruits, trains, coaches and motivates the sales team and actively sells on the floor to build customer loyalty. The assistant manager helps maintain merchandising standards and assists with inventory and shrinkage control. Responsibilities • Recruit, hire and onboard department sales team members • Train, coach and develop sales associates to achieve sales goals • Execute business plans to drive department volume and productivity • Provide outstanding customer service by selling on the floor and leading by example • Maintain merchandising and presentation standards • Support accurate inventory management and shrinkage reduction • Build and maintain productive relationships with store and divisional leaders • Track and achieve individual and department sales productivity metrics
