Assistant Fashion Designer (Women + Men Fashion Outerwear)

We are a growing fashion company with a newly designed, modern design studio in New York City seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Fashion Designer for women's and men's fashion outerwear to join our creative team. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with our Creative Director in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and contribute to the development of trend driven women's and men's premium outerwear collections. The company's current brand portfolio for licensed outerwear includes Jason Wu®, Rebecca Minkoff®, Hudson Jeans®, Robert Graham®, Buffalo David Bitton®.

Responsibilities

Assist the Creative Director with design and product development
Create and maintain technical packs (tech packs)
Prepare line sheets and product presentations
Help organize and maintain showroom samples
Update design files and seasonal product information
Assist with color, fabric, trim, and artwork organization
Coordinate with vendors and factories as needed
Provide general support for the design team and seasonal projects

Qualifications

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Experience creating and updating tech packs
Familiarity with AI-assisted tools for creating line sheets and design presentations
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design
1–2 years of experience in fashion design or product development
Experience working with overseas factories and production processes is a plus

Location: New York City (in-office)

Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 annually, based on experience.
