Asset Protection Detective - Fashion Valley

Summary

Responsible for protecting company assets and ensuring a safe shopping environment at a retail location. Conducts investigations of suspected theft and fraud, observes and deters loss through visible and covert security measures, and partners with store leadership and law enforcement as needed. Works varied shifts including nights and weekends to support store operations and asset protection objectives.

Responsibilities

Conduct investigations into incidents of theft, fraud, and employee dishonesty and complete detailed incident reports.Monitor store premises using patrols and video surveillance to deter and detect potential loss.Apprehend and detain suspects in accordance with legal and company policies and coordinate with law enforcement when necessary.Provide testimony in civil or criminal proceedings and maintain chain-of-evidence procedures.Collaborate with store management to recommend and implement loss prevention strategies and training.Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; additional security or law enforcement training preferred.Prior loss prevention, security, or law enforcement experience preferred.Strong observational, reporting, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work flexible hours including nights and weekends.Must be able to pass background check and any required licensing or certification.
