Ross Stores is looking for a proactive and hands-on Area Store Leader to join our management team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind the success of your specific department while also taking charge of the entire building as the Manager on Duty. We need a leader who can balance the fast-paced nature of off-price retail with a commitment to organized merchandising and high-quality customer service. As an Area Store Leader, you will bridge the gap between store strategy and floor execution, ensuring that every associate is empowered to work efficiently and every customer enjoys a treasure-hunt shopping experience.
Qualifications:
• Strong command of the English language with the ability to communicate clearly with diverse teams.
• Background in retail supervision or a fast-paced customer service leadership role.
• Comfortable navigating retail technology, including POS terminals and back-office computer systems.
• Competent in basic retail math for handling cash, inventory counts, and reporting.
• Total schedule flexibility, including the ability to work nights, weekends, and seasonal holiday hours.
• Ease of use with all store tools, such as PDT scanners and handheld communication devices.
• Physical stamina to remain active on the sales floor for the duration of a shift.
• Ability to handle the physical demands of retail, including lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, and reaching.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary lead for the store during designated shifts, managing the start-of-day and end-of-day operational checklists.
• Coach and supervise Retail Associates, providing the guidance and feedback necessary to hit productivity targets.
• Promote a culture of safety by identifying potential hazards and ensuring all loss prevention protocols are strictly followed.
• Oversee the visual standards of the sales floor, ensuring that merchandise is sized, ticketed, and displayed according to brand guidelines.
• Manage the logistics of the stockroom, from truck offloading to the rapid movement of new arrivals onto the floor.
• Coordinate Front End traffic to ensure registers are running smoothly and customer wait times stay low.
• Monitor the fitting room area to maintain cleanliness and prevent inventory shrinkage through diligent tag checks and recovery.
• Execute administrative tasks with high accuracy, including managing payroll logs, bank deposits, and cash office audits.
• Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring the team remains professional and adheres to the company dress code and service standards.
• Lead by example on the floor, using "greatest-need" logic to jump in wherever the store needs support most.
