Adjunct Faculty, Fashion Merchandising and Design

Position Summary: The Fashion Merchandising and Design department at Johnson County Community College is accepting applications for an adjunct instructor in the Apparel Design and Technology program. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline • At least two years of related industry experience • Advanced understanding of Technical Design and all components of apparel tech packages • Strong computer skills including Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop (portfolio/samples required) • Strong knowledge of pattern making, draping, garment construction, fitting and alterations for apparel (portfolio/samples required) • Written and oral communication skills • Organization and classroom management skills • Motivation to teach and mentor students at the college level and promote student success • Ability to facilitate a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters creative and critical thinking To be considered for this position we will require an application, resume, and cover letter.
