Tura is one of the most highly respected Eyewear firms in the U.S. The company manufactures and markets a large portfolio of brands for men and women, including Tura, Ted Baker, LAMB, GX by Gwen Stefani, Lulu Guinness, Buffalo David Bitton, Mini Eyewear, as well as pure eyewear brands. Title:  Accessories Designer Reports To:  Senior Product Manager Salary:  $60,000 - $70,000 Experience and Skills Required: 1-2 years of Eyewear/ Sunwear design and product development experience preferred 1-2 year product design/sourcing experience in China preferred Jewelry degree with a strong understanding of construction and dimensionality Elevated taste level Experience developing a concept from conception Experience reading CADs/technical drawings preferred Organized and detail oriented Product Development timeline management Daily time management Ability to Prioritize Responsibilities: Manage the design and development of multiple eyewear collections Design and develop products from concept through development, meeting the brand objectives set by the Licensor, sales and the market needs Primary sourcing contact with suppliers—all product development follow- up Pricing of new models—margin management Manage development schedule to ensure on time delivery of samples and production Quality control of all development samples, as well as trouble shoot production issues Track product development through Tura’s Excel PLM system Interface effectively w/ Marketing, to deliver on-message product for each brand Data entry and maintenance for models to purchase Develop Product Training documents as needed for key accounts Quality control on all new styles Results Expected: Strong sales of product Well- fitting and functioning product--quality standards maintained Profitable product--margin maintenance Commercially reasonable, trend-right, brand appropriate, competitively priced product Timely and efficient product development including vendor management Positive licensor relationship Required  Skills: The job is 80% Product Development, 20% design. Product development experience in a commercial environment preferred (internship level is ok) Ability to conceptualize new designs from scratch and provide clear and detailed design direction to the factory Extremely organized and experienced in tracking many projects throughout the product development process Extremely detailed in product design, development, and communication skills Strong technical knowledge of construction processes Strong technical knowledge when reviewing CAD drawings Needs to write clearly in English and speak in a professional and articulate manner Critical thinking skills which are evidenced in good decision making, project ownership, and a global perspective Solutions oriented attitude Passionate about design and product—loves eyewear Team player and highly collaborative Hard working and committed—usually requires 50+ hours of work per week Ability to draw in Illustrator Sense of scale, proportion, color and graphic layout Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs. Preferred skills: Strong Microsoft office skills especially in Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook Experience designing and developing optical frames
