3D CAD ARTIST / KNITWEAR APPAREL

The 3D CAD Artist/Knitwear Apparel, through collaboration with the Design Team, is responsible for interpreting original inspiration and knitwear design sketches into digital artworks. Bringing our customers visions and designed silhouettes to life digitally through an experienced understanding of knitwear stitches, color, prints, embroidery, and patterns. SPECIFIC TASKS and RESPONSIBILITIES Works alongside the Senior Designer collaboratively to create flat and 3D CADs; with stitch detail, colors and prints as needed to push design intention forward to best suit our customers’ needs Demonstrates trends in art and graphics, by designing, creating, developing print boards, and designing visual concepts using graphic design tools including design software Assists to identify, understand, and define with conviction seasonal knitwear trends and color, yarn, and stitch direction; conducts research through retail shopping, review of industry media and trade show attendance (when in person meetings resume) Partners with Design and Product Managers on the development and implementation of seasonal design strategies for key accounts, based on the accounts design and development requirements, trends in the marketplace and our resources, identifying creative ideas, concepts & digital designs that speak directly to key accounts Presents cohesive work that conveys trends from initial research through design meetings as well as formal customer presentations Responsible for building strong relationship with customers & thoroughly understanding their products, brand image, pricing, and expectations Assist with the U.S. Knitwear knowledge a must, in depth understanding of yarns, fabrics, trims, and construction, good knowledge of imported sweater manufacturing process Proficient in Adobe Suite, and latest releases of Photoshop and Illustrator for flat digital design Working knowledge of Shima Apex and CLO design systems a plus, if not, must be willing to learn Shima & CLO to be able to take a hand sketch or sample and draw, render into these systems, to produce images Ability to interpret design concepts into silhouettes, print artwork and CAD designs Ability to follow product through from initial concept to production Strong eye for visual composition, excellent color matching skills, ability to creatively execute production artwork and designs within cost and value requirements Excellent presentation skills Must possess the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment Ability to work independently and collaboratively Excellent time-management, multi-tasking, and ability to prioritize projects Self-starter with strong administrative and organizational skills Great problem-solving skills and a cool head under pressure Minimum of 5 years 3D / CAD Experience Minimum of 2 years Knitwear Experience
